Jugband Blues - an experimental performance on the tracks of Syd Barrett is the work of an artist collective interpreting the graphic novel transforming is into a multi-sensorial experience thanks to Cristina Iurissevich’s motion graphics, the original electronic score by Riccardo Mazza and Laura Pol’s immersive videos. The work of Turin-based collective Project-TO formed by sound experimenter Riccardo Mazza and videomaker Laura Pol is published by Machiavelli Music.
Even today, eleven years after his passing, Roger Keith “Syd” Barrett’s life is a mystery stoking the flames of debates, controversial retellings and bizarre theories.
That of Barrett, founder of Pink Floyd and first dtronman of the band, is a well renowned name not only among psychedelic enthusiasts: imbued with a n undeniably artistic and experimental attitude, Syd has become a symbol for English underground cultur in the Sixties and, later on, legendari pop-rock icon and point of reference of generations of artists.
This performance is inspired by the graphic novel Jugband Blues - a graphic Trip on the tracks of Syd Barrett by Matteo Regattin and Simone Perazzone, soon out on NPE Edizioni in 2018.
A visionary, unconventional show following Syd along the thin border between sharp reality and hallucination.
