"CREO": the fourth artistic residence is in progress at the Artemista Centre
9 Mar 2020
In these days the Centro Artemista Recording Studio hosts Michele Bernabei, trumpeter, composer, teacher.
This is the fourth of the six residencies awarded within CREO, the project dedicated to the creation of young Italian musical talents within the initiative #PerChiCrea, dedicated to young musicians looking for opportunities and promoted by Machiavelli Music Publishing and Associazione Culturale Artemista, supported by SIAE and MiBACT.
The selected artists are welcomed for a 14-day creative residency period at the Artemista Cultural Centre in Spessa (PV) and are supported by a scholarship. The space of the residency offers the ideal environment for musical creation and the time, during the creative stay, will be dedicated to: creation, training, production. The tutors, professionals in the music sector, offer support on creative solutions, arrangement choices, performance practices, to strengthen the musical identity of each project.
Michele says, about his experience:
"In the top 3 of my wishes as a musician there was the one (just crossed off) to make an artistic residence in a wonderful place like this. ...I imagined a slow and extremely dilated time in which I would meet creativity maybe through moments of boredom as a child: quite different. The days spent with the privilege of being able to do only what you love the most without any other kind of distraction slip away with a disconcerting speed. I already think how much I will miss the nights spent writing music with the thrill of really doing research, as well as the long chats with Mauro Buttafava, visionary creator of this place and enormous source of inspiration for me in these days with its brilliant depth. Thanks a lot to Mauro, Elisa, Marta of Associazione Culturale Artemista e a Machiavelli Music Publishing for this wonderful opportunity that I will really take with me and I will not forget".
