Machiavelli Music 2022 Prize awarded!
16 Mar 2022
On Monday 14 March at Cinema Massimo in Turin, the Machiavelli Music Award for Best Original Soundtrack was presented to Anaïs Drago, for the music of the short film "Mentre che'l vento, come fa, ci tace" by Maria Piva.

The violin gives this contemporary vision of the Fifth Canto of Dante's Inferno a magical and evocative atmosphere, which together with Ester Fogliano's dance performance recounts the guilt and punishment of the souls of the lustful, Paolo and Francesca.
For us, the music represents the absence of rationality and evokes the memory of Francesca, of her abandonment to instinct and passion and retraces, with intense emotional peaks, the stages of Dante's tale.
The 21st edition of Turin's Glocal Film Festival, of which we have been a partner for 12 years, took shape in 2022 with 5 days of events that brought 68 films to theatres, including tributes, competitions and special screenings.
This award reaffirms the meaning of our work: music conveys the emotions of the story.
For us, the collaboration with the Festival represents an appointment with Piedmontese cinema, capable of conveying the state of the art of local cinematographic creativity and creating connections between professionals and aspiring filmmakers.
Machiavelli Music strongly adheres to the spirit of the event and through this partnership pursues one of its main objectives: to invest in young people and music professionals, through the constant search for new talent in Italy, while promoting the creativity of young Italian artists abroad.
The awards evening saw the presentation of prizes to the films competing in the Spazio Piemonte and Panoramica Doc competitive sections which, in full glocal spirit, respond to the historic mission of the festival. For 21 years the Glocal Film Festival, organised by the Associazione Piemonte Movie, has been promoting local authors, production companies and film professionals who have chosen Piedmont to realise their projects, finding in the region a fertile ground for collaboration.
This edition marked the return to the cinema after two difficult years for the entire cultural sector, declares Gabriele Diverio, director of the festival. "Never before have we realised as we did this year the magic that only the cinema can give and the need for the public to return to enjoy this experience and share it with others".
